Album Releases June-August 2025
It is never really possible to know exactly when an album is published - this Summer, I had the pleasure to have three releases almost at the same time. I have written extensively about all three of them in previous posts (please have a look there for more information) and I am very pleased to finally present them.
1) On June 6 my solo album “Sonate Accademiche - An Anthology” was published. It is a selection of sonatas and movements from Francesco Maria Veracini’s op.2, an enourmous collection of violin sonatas published in 1744. The album has been featured on both the Dutch and the Swiss national radio, and has been rewarded with comments such as:
”Eva Saladin plays with an excellent sound…shows no weaknesses when it comes to technique” (Biberfan, 8.6.2025)
“The performance by Saladin, Rosin, and Keller is marked by a high degree of technical refinement and an exceptionally sensitive stylistic reading. Their interpretation is distinguished by measured ornamentation—never excessive—yet of great expressive effectiveness.”
(Sonograma, 29.8.2025)
2) On the first of August the album Kunst der Fuge (The Art of Fugue) came out. I had the pleasure to be part of the Stuttgart ensemble Il Gusto Barocco, founded and led by harpsichordist Jörg Halubek. It is a recording of the earlier version of the piece (according to the manuscript, which the order is different and some movements are not existent), in a colourful instrumentation using all possible instruments which Bach had at his disposal. Klick here for more information about the ensemble, the conductor and the production.
3) On the 15h of August, we finally published our new CD with Ensemble Odyssee! It had been our wish for a very long time to make an album with Bach concerti, and now it is here. We have been publishing video material on Odyssee’s Youtube channel already. The album can be ordered on our website www.ensembleodyssee.com, please find us also on all online streaming services. A first review of the album:
”This Amsterdam-based ensemble performs the concerti in a stupendously lively and relaxed manner, which is historically informed but not stuffy, artistically creative, and yet still captures the character of Bach’s music.
