Eva Saladin is a core member of Ensemble Odyssee, along with Anna Stegmann (recorder), Georg Fritz (oboe and recorder) and Andrea Friggi (harpsichord). Founded in 2011, Odyssee has recorded seven CDs, performed regularly in The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. In various constellations, from four people to a complete orchestra, the main repertoire focus has been on 17th-century Naples, early 18th-century London and dance music written for Louis XIV’s court. With its refreshing, honest and puristic but personal way of playing, Odyssee has gained a remarkable audience recognition. www.ensembleodyssee.com https://www.youtube.com/user/EnsembleOdyssee

Founded by alumni of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Il Profondo is an ensemble of eight basso-continuo players. Eva Saladin has become one of the main string players who join the bass group for instrumental recitals and for collaborations with singers such as Flavio Ferri-Benedetti (18th-century Italian repertoire with strings and continuo), Jan Börner and Nuria Rial (17th-century German repertoire with violin consort). In recent years, Il Profondo has partly moved away from conventional concert performances, focussing more and more on staged music theater performances directed by artists such as Michael Kleine and Aliénor Dauchez.

Il Fuoco Eterno

Video with passages from a Vespro by Marc’ Antonio Ziani. Made by Andrew Burn, 2023

Ensemble Il Fuoco eterno is a new ensemble, founded in Basel in 2021 by the organist Christoph Anzböck and Eva Saladin. Its ultimate goal is to bring Viennese opera music from the transitional period around 1700 back to life in a staged production, and in preparation for that it explores the repertoire of less well-known Italian composers who worked at the Viennese court at that time. The ensemble plays in different settings, from solo violin with continuo accompaniment to orchestra, with both sacred and secular music.
